Recluses seem to embody wisdom and independence. Certain recluses have been called “superstars” thanks to their mystique. Yet we fear and can’t understand them.
I think I'm just fascinated with recluses because I never seem to get enough alone time, even though if I did actually get it, I'm sure I'd get lonely fast! I'm from Maine and remember when the North Pond Hermit was apprehended--the book about him is fascinating, although I felt like some things the writer thought were oddities are typical Mainer behavior. :)
